FAQs

The admissions process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the program, the completion of your application and how quickly documents are processed. Once you apply, shortlisted applicants are notified within 5 days under normal conditions.

A certificate serves as an entry requirement for many technical and vocational programs because it demonstrates that applicants have the essential literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in further training. Having at least a BECE certificate ensures that all students begin their technical studies with a basic educational foundation.

Yes. International applicants are welcome but must relocate to Ghana to attend, as training is not available online.

Yes. ACTT offers a limited number of scholarships and partial sponsorships, particularly for the NC1 Plumbing & Gas Technology program. These are awarded based on eligibility and availability of sponsorships. We also allow flexible payment plans for tuition to ease the financial burden.

To be considered for an ACTT scholarship, applicants are required to complete the following steps:

-Submit a regular program application through the ACTT website.
-Within the application form, upload a Scholarship -Motivation Letter clearly outlining your financial need, motivation, interest in the program, and whether you can contribute part of the tuition (if applicable).
-Include any supporting documents (if available) that demonstrate financial need or relevant background.

Admissions are open all year round. However, enrollment into new batches is organized every quarter (January, April, July and October). Applications usually open a month after the close of one admission window. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to secure a place in their preferred program.

Currently, we are unable to issue certification without completion of the required training program. While we value your prior experience, our certification is awarded only after both theoretical and practical assessments are completed within our structured curriculum. This approach ensures every graduate meets consistent standards of knowledge, safety, and technical competence. We encourage you to enroll in the program to formalize your skills and obtain recognized certification.

YES, Women can thrive in TVET, technical and vocational careers are no longer just for men, these fields are not about physical strength, but about skill, innovation, and quality workmanship. At ACTT, our practical training, modern equipment, and supportive learning environment gives women every opportunity to thrive, excel, and even lead in these industries. With growing demand for female professionals in technical fields, women trained at ACTT are positioned to stand out and succeed.

ACTT awards a Certificate of Competence or nationally recognized certificates under CTVET, which can open doors for further studies and employment. However, unlike traditional education that may focus mainly on theory, TVET prioritizes hands-on skills. Employers and clients hire based on competence, the ability to provide solutions, deliver quality work, and apply skills professionally. The certificate is important as proof of training, but what really sets ACTT graduates apart is their confidence, technical ability, and readiness to work or start their own business after completion.

Absolutely! At ACTT, what matters most is your willingness to learn, constant practice, and dedication. Many successful artisans and business owners started without completing secondary school but built their careers through TVET. ACTT provides step-by-step training, mentorship, and apprenticeship so you can acquire skills and create your own future regardless of your academic background.

Yes, you can still pursue higher education after completing ACTT’s 18-month Plumbing and Gas Technology program. The program is accredited by CTVET and leads to a National Certificate I (NC I). To progress to a diploma, HND, or university program, CTVET requires graduates to first complete National Certificate II (NC II) training and receive the NC II certificate. You can take the NC II at another accredited institution before applying for higher education.

Yes. Our programs are designed for learners of all backgrounds; the curriculum is beginner friendly and caters for trainees with little or no background in ACTT’s training programs. Whatever training you have acquired, we start from the fundamentals, so even if you have no prior technical experience, you will gain the knowledge and hands-on training needed to excel.

ACTT equips you with employable, highly demanded skills that you can apply immediately, either to work with companies or to start your own business. Unlike traditional degrees that may take years to translate into opportunities, TVET skills allow you to create your own path and become independent. Many graduates are turning to TVET because it offers a direct, practical response to unemployment. We have employers reaching out to us all the time looking to hire artisans with entry level skills for their ongoing projects, and competitive salary ranges.

Hands-on skills are valuable, but in today’s competitive market, technical know-how alone is not enough. ACTT helps you upgrade by adding professional certifications and essential soft skills such as customer service, occupational health & safety, quality management, and business ethics. These not only make you more credible but also attract higher-paying clients and contracts. Having a professional certification also proves to your clients that you stay updated with changing industry trends while adhering to regulatory standards.

You gain exposure to international and local standards, which help you to appreciate reasons why certain technical decisions are made on site, and the principles of the trade – you do not get to learn these through a local MasterCraft’s Person.

Acquiring these are essential because soft skills are what separates a good artisan from a trusted professional. Clients do not just want quality work, they want reliability, safety, respect, and professionalism. ACTT’s short courses in customer service, communication, and ethics ensure that you win repeat clients, bigger contracts, and long-term business growth.

Many artisans know their craft but are often overlooked for larger projects because they lack recognized certification. ACTT’s certificates validate your experience, give you professional credibility, and open doors to bigger jobs, partnerships, and even international opportunities. Your skills also remain relevant across different geographical locations, making them a vital asset should you relocate or travel abroad. In addition, the German equivalent certification offered after training endorses your competency and skills at an international standard.

In most cases, students are encouraged to focus on one program at a time to ensure success. However, with approval from the Training & Quality Assurance Department, it may be possible to enroll in two programs provided scheduling and workload are favorable.

Our team provides support with job searches, résumé building, interview preparation, and connections to employers in the field. Job placement rates may vary by program and industry, but we are proud to maintain strong relationships with local employers and consistently achieve high placement rates for our dedicated graduates.
