Nathaniel Adjei Arthur, graduate from our Plumbing Systems Design program, who was part of our inaugural cohort shares his ACTT experience in the video below. He represents everything we sought to achieve with ACTT.
Prior to joining ACTT, he had been practising plumbing for 5years. In his search to upgrade his skills and acquire new knowledge as a Plumber who learnt through a local Master Crafts Person, he discovered us on the internet. He received a scholarship and stood out very quickly, always helping out Facilitators in class and securing small gigs during his studies.
Upon graduation, he was able to formalize his newly found skills and experience into his venture Detailed Plumbing Plus. He secured contracts in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale, working on a wide span of plumbing design and installation projects, anywhere from residential buildings to high rise commercial structures. Our proudest moment was when he asked to hire 10 trainees to join him on a new project.

While at ACTT, he was introduced to LinkedIn and currently has over 1,000 followers on his business page. You will typically find him sharing plumbing related insights or taking up speaking gigs advocating for standards in the trade. He also never misses an opportunity to return to ACTT and coach new trainees. He hopes to influence standards in plumbing and help others avoid what he terms “trial and error work”.
I had the honor of participating in a panel discussion at my alma mater, ACTT, alongside a distinguished individual Elizabeth Ewudiwa . I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation Monicia Boahen for affording me this opportunity and for her continued support. Her mentorship and guidance have been instrumental in my personal and professional development, and I am truly grateful for the positive influence she has had on my journey.
He remains one of our most engaged alumni and we are so proud of his work as an entrepreneur now! We are very thankful to industry partners who supported us on his journey – @fecoplumbingworks @kimohome @UGMC @cimaf_ghana @hansgrohe_africa
